Homeopathy For You - Gentle Holistic Medicine for all ages and conditions
What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a natural, gentle and safe energy medicine which stimulates the bodies own healing abilities and strengthens all aspects of ones life. Homeopathy treats the whole individual on the mental, emotional and physical level creating balance and well being, it is suitable for a wide range of conditions, from simple acute's such as colds, rashes, cuts, sprains etc to chronic life long conditions such as diabetes, migraines, depression, skin complaints, M.E and many more. Homeopathy is safe and effective before, during and after pregnancy and can be used on the whole family.

Homeopathic medicines are highly diluted substances, sourced from minerals, elements, plants and animals, and are carefully selected to match that of the patient, as Homeopathy is based on the principle of similia similibus curentur; "let like be cured with like" meaning that if a remedy is  capable of producing symptoms of a disease in a healthy person, it can cure those same symptoms in the sick.

Homeopathy was founded by Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) who studied Medicine & Chemistry through the University of Leipzig, Germany. He began practice as a  physician and practiced for about nine years, but found conventional treatment to be harsh and felt it to do more harm than good, so he gave up his practice and went on to doing translations, study and research. In that time Hahnemann was working on a translation for a Dr William Cullen (1710-90) who was a teacher, physician and Chemist, and his book included an essay on Peruvian bark or Cinchona, from which quinine, the treatment of malaria is derived, Hahnemann was both intrigued and sceptical of this, & began researching further as well as testing small amounts on himself to observe the effects of Cinchona upon a healthy person, Hahnemann found that he was starting to produce symptoms similar to those of malaria (like cure's like) this took him to further research on the healing powers of natural remedies, systematically testing individual substances on his own healthy constitution and that of his family & friends in order to record their exact and specific effect, in this way he collated a detailed symptom picture for each remedy and published his findings between 1811 and 1821 in six volumes of his Materia Medica Pura.
